History

In 1916, Camerican began as the U.S. office of a Dutch Trading company providing imported foods to the rapidly growing American food industry. Our founding principle was to provide our customers with quality-assured products that are imported in the most efficient manner.     

From being the first company to use the transatlantic cable for an international transaction, to our use of EDI communication links today our business goal remains the same to be a reliable, low cost provider of high quality imported products.    

Today, we are proud to be part of a family of companies whose combined sales are in excess of $1.1 billion, and whose product mix covers a broad range of imported foods. Our global reach and breadth of products is second to none, and we are a financially strong, consistently profitable company that continues to play a leadership role in the food importing business.
